In case anyone misses it out, the hub of the cultural scene of this spring in Veneto are 3 great exhibitions, each dedicated to three Renaissance masters, happening almost at the same time this spring.

The first to open the door of this artistic season was the Giorgione in Castelfranco Veneto in occasion of his 500th anniversary and, if you haven’t seen it yet, hurry up as it will run till April.

But now, you can also enjoy 38 great masterpieces of Cima da Conegliano and 15 exclusive paintings and one drawing of Jacopo da Ponte each one honoured in their birthplaces, respectively Conegliano and Bassano del Grappa.

The exhibition “Cima da Conegliano, Poeta del paesaggio” is taking place in Palazzo Sarcinelli, in Conegliano, till the 2nd of June with an interesting collection of altarpieces, devotional works and mythological panels such the “Virgin and Child” and “Saint Jerome”.

Jacopo Bassano 500 Years” showcase is held instead in the Civic Museum of Bassano del Grappa till the 13th of June as part of a 3-year celebration for the 500th birthday of Jacopo da Ponte (uncertain between the 1510 and 1512) that will conclude with the 2012 exhibition.

Each event will explore different stages of Jacopo’s career and masterpieces.

Hence, this first exhibition, which is also featuring 22 of the artist’s works from the museum’s permanent collection, is inspired to the first half of his life and his earliest paintings given the name to the event “Jacopo Bassano e lo stupendo inganno dell’occhio” (Jacopo Bassano and the Wonderful Optical Illusion) characterized by the exceptional realism of his pictures.

Some of the greatest museums throughout Italy and the world, such as the London National Gallery, Uffizi Gallery in Florence, The Hermitage in Saint Petersburg and also private collector,  contributed to make those 3 great exhibitions possible gathering together a rare and extraordinary collection of each artists’ masterworks under the same roof.

Tickets for Cima da Conegliano are €10,00 while for “Jacopo Bassano 500” €9,00.
